Episode 4: What This Blog Is About

Behind the Scenes

In this episode, I’ve come really close to realizing my goal of chronological synchronicity with myself.  That’s a make-myself-sound-smart way of saying:  We’re almost caught up. It feels great to take a moment and come clean with you guys, and get expectations for the blog on the same page.

When I start posting videos from  Melbourne, it will be interesting to see where the blog goes.  So far, it’s been all tourism and friend making.  Here, I’ll be staying in one place, getting a job, and learning to budget.  I will have to exercise some serious creativity to ensure things stay fun.  I’m feeling very up to the challenge.

At the least, maybe I’ll finally start meeting some Australians.  When you stay in hostels all the time, you meet travelers almost exclusively.  I think a more permanent location will give me the time I need to uncover the stealthy mammals called “Aussies”.  Hopefully, they won’t bite.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the rampant spiritual growth I talked about under the first episode.  I thought it might level out quickly, once I had a feel for being in a foreign place.  If anything, it’s gotten stronger.  I’ve had moments of clarity far beyond “noteworthy”, and they’re becoming more pervasive.  More and more, my new viewpoint is being absorbed into my normal thought process.  The change isn’t wholly comfortable, but it’s incredibly empowering.  The fact that I’m talking about it so publicly without worrying that I’ll be dismissed as “a crazy hippie” is just one symptom.

I assure you, the previous video will be the last of the “epidodes.”  What a silly moment that was …and I worked so hard on the dramatic musical intro!
